For almost 20 years, Allison Rak has been planning and hosting elaborate "scavenger-hunt" type of events for her friends, family and colleagues. In 2002, noticing market trends like adventure-themed reality TV, as well as people’s increasing desire for home-based entertainment with family and friends, she decided to take the adventure format she had honed over the years and create a kit that makes it incredibly easy for anyone to host such an event.

Boondoggle was born. Many customers who love the Boondoggle format and rely heavily on the guidebook when planning their event do not need all of the contents of the kit, so in 2006 she created a stand-alone, step-by-step guidebook. Her goal is to make it easy and fun for anyone to host a Boondoggle.
